Bio

Brock J. Oliverio, MD (a.k.a. e-effect) is the co-founder of the independent video game development company, Toobix LLC. Brock creates all of the music and sound effects for the video games at Toobix and shares in the web and game programming with his friend, co-founder, and talented artist, Brooks Newhouse (a.k.a. redbeard_prime). Brock has developed the Digital Media Shop system and is currently knee-deep into his first video game programming experience with the first downloadable Toobix fighting game, DPRN.

Brock's musical styles have spanned everything from dance to classical and you can listen to all of his songs on the home page. You can download these tracks at the Toobix Digital Media Shop, and all he asks in exchange for his hard work is less than a dollar a track! All of the games developed by Brock and Brooks are available for play in the Toobix Arcade.

Origins

Inspired by the End (Boss) theme from the Star Fox Original Soundtrack, Brock began developing his self-taught electronic music style at the age of 16. Going by the alias e-effect, Brock honed his skills in online communities like the Roland JV/XP yahoo group, the Orion yahoo group, the original mp3.com, and generoproject.com, Brock used the advice of other indie and label musicians and producers to advance his production quality and eventually have his music featured on hardhouse.co.nz -- one of the top hard dance sites on the net. A young artist and video game developer, Brooks Newhouse, later approached Brock to write a song for one of his online games. The monster break beat track Brock delivered for the paradoxically lighthearted game fueled a discussion about the duo teaming up to form a new, independant video game development company. Ten years after Brock began his musical journey, he was led back to the video game world and Toobix LLC was formed in June of 2005.
